چکیده

Climate change and human activity can both exert a role in the river discharge sediment load deltas when sea level remains relatively stable. The Pearl River Delta constitutes metropolitan region of Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau Greater Bay Area, its evolution past future impacts sustainable development this region. In manuscript, core situated northern South China Sea, adjacent to Qiao Island Zhuhai city Delta, was selected investigate hydrodynamic variation influenced by tropical processes flux imposed activities. Using paleosecular variations (PSVs) geomagnetic field correlations constrained seven radiocarbon ages, an ∼2.5 kyr chronology provided for sediments ∼2.8 m length. magnetic fabric results suggest that deposition two types hydrodynamic-weak energy modulated El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) higher regulated high-frequency storms. cyclic degree anisotropy susceptibility ( P ) indicate periodic changes at approximately 300 100 years, which were forced ENSO activity, while ratio lineation with foliation q value) implies flow period 1.3–1.9 kyr, arising from strong Moreover, high saturation remanence (SIRM) introduces more flux, is impacted growing during 1.0–1.6 kyr.

Behaviors of extreme water level in the Pearl River Delta and possible impacts from human activities

Papers published in Hydrology and Earth System Sciences Discussions are under open-access review for the journal Hydrology and Earth System Sciences Abstract Trends and variations of the extreme water levels defined as exceeding/falling below certain thresholds (mean ± std) across the Pearl River Delta (PRD) are systematically explored using the linear regression method. Research results indica...

Impacts of urbanization on net primary productivity in the Pearl River Delta, China

Great changes in land use/land cover from rapid urbanization have occurred in the PearlRiver Delta, China. As the primary cause of land development in the urbanization process, urban expansion has mostly occurred on land with higher NPP, significantly impacting theregional ecosystems. The primary purpose of this study was to reveal the impacts of urbanexpansion on the regional NPP. The land cove...
